Privacy and Data Protection Policy 

 

This policy sets out how CHIROMO Chiropractic Clinic will handle information relating to you. 

CHIROMO Chiropractic Clinic is the trading name of Alison McLuckie (Sole Trader) at Hackney Downs Studios. 

As a client of CHIROMO Chiropractic Clinic (hereafter referred to as ‘CHIROMO’), we want you to rest assured that we are fully committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with GDPR law.

CHIROMO collects your data for the purpose of providing health/ chiropractic services. 

By booking an appointment, you consent to CHIROMO collecting the data which you volunteer through our booking platform (JANE App) and intake forms.

By registering as a client with CHIROMO you consent for CHIROMO and its associates to process your information in order to provide you with our services - this is our legal basis for processing. Your information is held securely and in line with GDPR at all times. Your data is accessible to CHIROMO and its associates. Your data will only be shared with a limited number of third-party services (such as ‘simple set’ and ‘mailchimp’) for the purposes of sending you exercises programmes and for contacting you from time to time. CHIROMO will never share the content of your patient/ treatment notes with any third-party websites. However, CHIROMO may share the content of your patient/ treatment notes with other Chiropractors or Therapists as associates of CHIROMO, or in the event that ownership of the business is transferred. 

 

How we use your information
 

In order to provide you a health care service we are essentially entering into a contract with you to deliver professional care. Part of this agreement includes a need for us to store and process your personal data as well as a legitimate interest in contacting you via phone, email or SMS. We don’t require you to opt in however we will always give you the opportunity to opt out of receiving communication.

 

By entering a contract with CHIROMO to provide you with a healthcare/ chiropractic service, you also consent to associates of CHIROMO having access to your data. This may include, but is not limited to, other healthcare professionals within the clinic, and your GP. 

 

When you register as a client with CHIROMO, by doing so you have provided consent for us to process your information. This consent is our legal basis for processing. We have a legitimate cause to contact you for reasons such as discussing your care, reminding you about upcoming appointments, keeping you up-to-date with relevant news and information about your chosen clinic and providing relevant health promoting information.

 

As part of our booking process you may be asked to provide payment details, these will all be encrypted and stored using the JANE payments/ stripe feature. 

 

Sharing your information

 

CHIROMO may share some of your data (name, email, DOB, phone number, address) with third party websites in the interest of providing a healthcare service and contacting you by phone, email or SMS from time to time. CHIROMO will never share the contents of your treatment notes with third party websites. 

For further information on the third party services which have access to your data, please contact the data controller. 

 

Retaining your information

We are required by law to keep your personal information for up to seven years from the date of your last visit. We encourage you to keep your information up-to-date, and you can do this easily whenever you visit our clinics.

We store your data securely on our software called ‘JANE’. This data is only accessible via password protected access by our data controllers or data processors. For further information on JANE please visit - 

 

Your rights

When it comes to your personal information, you have the following rights:

* The right to be informed about how we use your information

* The right to access any information we hold about you

* The right to correct any inaccurate information that we hold about you

* The right to request that we delete information that we hold about you

* The right to request that we stop processing your information i.e. using it for any or all of the purposes set out in this privacy policy

 

Changes to our Privacy Policy

From time to time, we may update our privacy policy to reflect changes in the way we provide our services to you, or in accordance with changes in data protection law. We encourage you to stay familiar with our privacy policy, but rest assured that If any significant changes are made, we will let you know by email.
